We Will Endure

If I could be with you right now, I would cry with you for a while, and then I would take your hand, look you in the eyes and tell you what I feel in my heart before giving you a big hug.

“We will endure, and we will thrive.

We. Will. Endure. And. We. Will. Thrive.”

We always have and always will.

If we can look within ourselves to find ourselves, we have already won. If we can find ourselves to be ourselves, we have already won. If we can be ourselves, we have already won.

Remember that.

We have written music to stir all souls, prose to inspire everyone, poetry for the ages, and made movies that made people everywhere wonder. We have made all types of other art to challenge and comfort. We have designed computer chips and written code that enable all of humanity to benefit. We have done so, so much and we will do more.

We have kicked ass and we will continue to do so.

It can be hard to remember that our emergence from the shadows and woodwork to take our rightful places in the daylight is recent. We may yet be forced back into the darkness for a spell, but those of us who have felt the sun will not soon forget its warm embrace and will move heaven and earth to return.

We will gather together. We will support each other. We will hold each other.

We will cry together. We will laugh together. We will mourn together. We will celebrate together. We will plan together. We will fight together.

We. Will. Fight.

State by state, county by county, city by city, we will fight for our rights.

We will endure.
